Cancer of the prostate, kidney, bladder, and testes, Urological Stone Disease and men with lower urinary tract symptoms and erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Stuart Collins and his family relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 2013 to commence practice at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.
Dr. Collins is a Queensland trained Urological Surgeon who graduated from the University of Queensland medical school in 2001. He underwent basic surgical training and 2 years of advanced training in general surgery prior to undertaking his urological education. During his training he was awarded the prestigious Neville Davis Prize in Surgery from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He was also a finalist in the Sir Edward Hughes Memorial Clinical Research Prize in Surgery in the same year. After sitting his fellowship examinations in 2012 he developed further skills in robotic oncology at Greenslopes Private Hospital in Brisbane using the latest Da Vinci Si robot from Intuitive Surgical. In 2013 He travelled to California in the United States to complete his Da Vinci console surgical training.
Dr. Collins will commence work at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital where his medical suite is located onsite. He will also consult and operate at the Noosa Hospital. He has taken up a part time staff specialist role at the Nambour General Hospital where he will consult, operate and be involved in training both medical students and urological advanced trainees. From an educational point of view, he will continue as an Associate Lecturer in the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. He is credentialed to operate at Greenslopes Hospital in Brisbane to perform Robot Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy.
